Evaluation Phrase

Image
Hello my virtual friends How are you feeling? Today I will talk about Evaluation Phrase. In every walk of life the process of evaluation takes place in one or the other form. If the evaluation process is eliminated from human life then perhaps the aim of life may be lost. It is only through evaluation that one can discriminate between good and bad. The whole cycle of social development revolves around the evaluation process. In education how much a child has succeeded in his aims, can only be determined through evaluation. Thus there is a close relationship between evaluation and aims. Evaluation plays an enormous role in the teaching-learning process. It helps teachers and learners to improve teaching and learning. Evaluation is a continuous process and a periodic exercise. It helps in forming the values of judgement, educational status, or achievement of student. Evaluation in one form or the other is inevitable in teaching-learning, as in all fields of activity of edu...

Decide and Design

HELLO EVERYONE, How are you feeling today? Today, I would like to share with you an interesting topic. This post is for all the future teachers that are going to work on projects and they should know that there are certain steps that need to be followed in order for a successful presentations. I have explained in another post blog the DDD-E model and today I am going to explain more in details the first two steps. 1. DECIDE 2. DESIGN Deciding mean to decide on the theme of the project. Teacher have to chose a topic that meet the needs of the students. Also it has to meet the desired goals of the students. So it must include what the teacher wants the students to learn during and in the end of this project. Another important factor that you as a teacher should keep in mind is the previous knowledge of the students. The second step, which is as important as the first step is designing. To design means to organize the content, to structure the site to choose the l...

Learning vocabulary while thinking critically

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back in my blog. Please take a minute to think about this quote before you read "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think". Today I will not talk about vocabulary or critical thinking...but I will talk for them both as one and the question is not "can we use critical thinking to teach vocabulary?" but the real question in this blog is " How can we teach enough vocabulary without it?" Now you are probably thinking How?? I will give you an example. Lets suppose that you have to reach your vocabulary with ten new words and you try to memorize them by making two lists of the words that fit together. If you put these words in one list, you have one idea of what bring them together and this helps you to learn vocabulary. It is great, isn't it? But what you actually did is that you analysed the thing, then you engaged in problem solving, in cooperation and negotiation... Whe...

Hello everyone, hope you are feeling good and safe. What do you think when you see the picture? This is what we will talk about this week in this post...Technology Tools. What are Technology tools? Technology is booming in today's classrooms. Teachers and students have access to countless technology tools that help them instruct and learn.  Three top teacher tools include the interactive whiteboard, computer, and document camera.  Student learning is supplemented with tablets, clickers, and apps. There are a wide range of tools available for students, educators, and librarians. The key is selecting materials that are effective, efficient, and appealing. The twenty-first century has arrived, and it has brought some of the most advanced computing technologies into the classroom; this leaves us with a very important question, do we really need technology, such as iPads or computers, implemented in our learning plans? As a student that has taken entire cou...

The constructivist method in teaching and DDD-E

Hello everyone, I hope from the bottom of my heart that you are all feeling good and safe. Do you remember what we discussed last time? If not, I explained to you the cooperative learning and its importance in teaching. Today I will talk about the constructivist method in teaching and DDD-E. Maybe this is the first time you hear this word... What exactly is Constructivist method? Based on the belief that learning occurs when learners are actively involved in the process of meaning and knowledge construction as opposed to passively receiving information. Constructivist method is done by the use of: INTERACTIVE TEACHING, COLLABORATIVE TEACHING(Lets learn together), INTEGRATIVE TEACHING(putting together separate disciplines to make the whole), INQUIRY-BASED TEACHING. In my opinion this method of teaching is very productive and efficient. Now, you will probably be asking, what is DDD-E? I will give you the definition of each letter. First D means decide, to establish t...

COOPERATIVE LEARNING

Image
Hello everyone            I hope from the bottom of my heart that you all are well, protected and safe. This is the post of the week and I will talk for cooperative learning. To be honest, I had to google it before writing. And I am sure that you are wondering what is cooperative learning? Well, cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences. In other words, it is the process of breaking the classroom into small groups so they discover a new concept together and help each other learn. Studies have shown that PBL makes the class more productive than individual work. Students are in the center of the lesson and this increases their self confidence. Students teach students and this makes the teacher's job easier. Students are better prepared for the world of work, and so they know their path.. I have always thought of this method as a productive one. A good w...
